Answering Some Common Hack My Ride 2.0 Questions

Survey

Please fill out this short survey to help us understand what you’re working on and how we can help. Don’t worry, you won’t have to spill any trade secrets, and we’ll keep your responses between you and VTA unless you give us permission to share.

Does My App Have to Be in the App Store?

No, you are not required to make your app available to the public via a website or app store, so you don't need to worry about allowing time for the app to go through the stores' approval process. Please see section 4 of the Rules for details about how you can submit your app for judging.

You’ll have up until September 17 at 5 pm PST to finalize your submission. No need to factor in additional weeks to get through the iTunes and Google Play approval process.

You may submit your apps for testing by either providing a link to access the web app or install download, by uploading an installation file, or by providing us an iOS beta install building using one of the services outlined Section 4.B (b) in the rules.

Beacons Q&A Webinar

Wondering how to use beacons in your app and compete for the $1,500 "Best Use of Beacons" prize?

Watch VTA’s beacon Q&A webinar with beacon manufacturer Kontakt.io (recorded live on July 22), download Kontakt.io’s presentation, and read the answers from the Q&A.

If there are any questions we didn’t answer, we’re hosting another live virtual Q&A on Thursday, August 6 from 10 to 11 am PST at https://youtu.be/VUVi5YiPhkE, as well as streaming on the challenge site home page. RSVP here and invite your team, colleagues, friends or classmates!
